Why is drama class good for children?
At school, there is a prominence on kids learning to read and write and rightly so, as these are primary skills. But where’s the attention in how well a child is communicating and how clearly and confidently they are speaking? If you consider how much we communicate orally, interacting with friends, family, colleagues, and strangers, then it seems odd that more emphasis isn’t put on this in schools.
Good communication skills are a fundamental life skill, help us make friends, get the most out of school, get a dream job, achieve something in that dream job. And that’s why drama is so good for little children; it teaches them how to speak unmistakably, loudly and with confidence.
Drama is a precious tool for use in many subject areas. Particularly, drama develops literacy skills supporting speaking and listening, extending vocabulary and cheering pupils to understand and express different points of view. Theatrical activity motivates kids to write for a variety of ideas.
Acting classes will increase kid’s ability to think innovatively, artistically and divergently. Children will learn how to think outside the box. Drama requires us to view things from various perspectives, engaging us to share control of a narrative between different players. This automatically widens our views, allowing us to create and evaluate information at a higher level.
Drama and phonics are wonderful ways for improving their English capabilities, and they aim various aspects of child literacy development. Phonics helps them to discover letters and their sounds and how they come together. But similarly important are there listening and speaking skills.
The theater classes tutor kids to how to adapt to changing situations. This allows them to be less reactive when new things come up, and be more apt to accept change, both on stage and in life. This flexibility and adaptability are highly required after skills in the working world.
Speaking in public does not come in nature to all people. They may hesitate over their words or completely forget them.
